HUTGESCHÄFT. La Sombrerería

En el año 1919, Dagobert Peche, realizó la decoración pictórica sobre este vaso de cristal soplado, durante su mandato como director artístico de la Wiener Werkstätte.

Grandes promotores y productores de todo tipo de objetos artesanales, estos talleres vieneses supusieron un punto de referencia a nivel internacional y un gran impulso para las artes industriales, desde la orfebrería, la metalurgía, hasta el diseño textil, o el diseño de complementos.

Tomando como inspiración esta pieza a libre elección, perteneciente a la colección permanente del Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas de Madrid, bajo la gestión del Istituto Europeo di Design (durante la realización del máster de especialización en diseño textil y diseño de superficies) y con la tutorización de La Casita de Wendy, he desarrollado una colección de estampados e ilustraciones, bajo el nombre HUTGESCHÄFT, La Sombrerería.

In 1919, Dagobert Peche executed the pictorial decoration on this glassblowing cup, while being artistic director of the Wiener Werkstätte.

Great developers and producers of all kind of handcrafts, these Viennese workshops meant a referential point on the international scene and a major boost for industrial arts, from gold work, metallurgy, to textile design or accessories design.

Taking this artistic piece, which belongs to the permanent collection of the National Museum of Decoratives Arts of Madrid, as a free choice, as source of inspiration (under the management of the Instituto Europeo di Design, during the fulfillment of the Master in Textile Design and Surfaces Design and the collaboration of La Casita de Wendy) I have developed a pattern and illustration collection, under the name of HUTGESCHÄFT, La Sombrerería. Una serie de piezas, de distintas familias y con diferentes superficies aplicadas, completan el muestrario de La Sombrerería.

A group of pieces from different families and with different applied surfaces completes La Sombrereria sampler.

Calcas impresas digitalmente con pigmentos cerámicos aplicadas directamente sobre loza blanca, cocida a 850 ºC, en el taller de Arteria Gráfica.

A finales de septiembre de este 2011 tendrá lugar en el Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas de Madrid, la exposición de LA SOMBRERERÍA y del resto de proyectos de la promoción 2010-11, inspirados en distintas piezas del museo.

At the end of September 2011 it will take place at the National Museum of Decoratives Arts of Madrid the exhibition of La Sombreria and the rest of the projects from the Graduates 2010-2011, all inspired in different artistic pieces of the museum.

La compra de ilustraciones y de los distintos productos de la colección tendrá lugar a partir de esa fecha.

Podrá realizarse on-line y en distintos puntos de venta.

La Portegna

Lujo, calma, voluptuosidad.Un trepidante viaje destino Estambul; la sinuosa, especiada, y envolvente Estambul.

La Portegna, firma especialista en accesorios de viaje, y gran conservadora de ese espíritu de búsqueda de aquellos míticos viajes con destinos quasi desconocidos, dejó caer en mis manos este atractivo proyecto tan diferente a otros, por su gran carga tanto conceptual como gráfica.

El producto escogido como soporte trasmisor fue el Peshtamal (turco: peştamal), una toalla tradicional turca, de algodón 100% de alta calidad, y tejida a mano en telar de bajo lizo, empleada durante siglos en los baños turcos.

Cuenta la leyenda que si una muchacha soltera sueña que está envuelta en una toalla peshtamal, se casará pronto.

De estar ya casada, es un signo de que su prestigio irá en aumento.

Todas las toallas han sido estampadas de forma artesanal mediante serigrafía manual, aquí en Madrid.

La Portegna, the firm specialized in travel accessories and great bearer of the spirit of search of those mythical journeys with quasi unknown destinies, dropped in my hands such a different and attractive project, because of its conceptual and graphic content.

The product chosen as receptacle of the idea was the Peshtamal (turkish: pestamal), a traditional Turkish towel, 100% high quality cotton, hand weaved, used for centuries in Turkish baths.

Legend tells that if a single girl dreams of being wrapped in a peshtamal towel she will get married soon. If being married it is a sign of her prestige will increase. 

All the towels were printed according to handcraft techniques by manual silk screen printing, in Madrid.

Ha sido un laborioso trabajo de estampación, debido a las dimensiones de las piezas, que sólo Arteria Gráfica aceptó desde el principio. Ellos han hecho que el ambicioso proyecto de La Portegna pueda ser hoy una realidad.
